Completed works at Marks and Spencer's retail unit, Omni Park Dublin.

Alpha Mechanical Services Ltd have recently completed works on a new 1,320 m² Retail Unit, located in the Omni Park Shopping Centre, Dublin. Alpha Mechanical supplied and installed all heating, air con, ventilation and plumbing to the main retail floor, back of house meeting rooms, and restrooms.

The large open space of the retail unit called for a minimalist installation. The services are all exposed and on view to the general public. With an exposed installation it is vital to ensure every bolt and piece of lagging is installed perfectly, as always with our installations. The end results are of the highest quality.

VACANCY - Gas Boiler Service Engineer - Dublin.

Alpha Mechanical Services Ltd are one of the fastest growing companies in Ireland, due to our continued expansion we require an experienced Gas Boiler Service Engineer as part of our growing Service and Maintenance division.

We are looking for a Gas boiler service engineer to join the existing team of Field engineers. The suitable candidate must be a fully qualified and registered gas service engineer (RGII). Extensive experience in gas boiler repair and servicing is necessary. Knowledge of general HVAC systems would be beneficial and and advantage. 

A major element of this role is to act as a representative for the company and to provide exceptional levels of service to customers while effectively managing their requirements. Specifically, you will be involved in servicing, fault-finding and repairs to commercial and industrial boilers, service pumps and general maintenance. You will operate to defined procedures, service routines and schedules and will liaise with clients, suppliers and contractors as required.

Key skills and experience required:

Fully certified plumber is preferable - Registered RGI gas installer is essential.
Full B licence/certification.
Primary responsibilities include field based, multi site building maintenance services, including RGII Boiler / OFTEC Boiler Servicing. General plumbing services.
Install, maintain, and repair a range of mechanical, plumbing service and other plant and equipment.
Diagnose and repair faults in engineering installations and associated plant and equipment, hot and cold water systems, LPHW boilers, pressurisation units, pump sets, air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems.
Provide technical support across multiple client sites, facilities and services.
Liaise directly with third party vendors to organise and perform routine maintenance and repair of plant and equipment.
Carry out Preventive and Predictive Maintenance works - Maintain all PPM and Reactive site maintenance records.
Provide technical support to maintenance assistants and new employees.
Full Driver Licence - SafePass & Manual Handling.
Proven ability to work on own initiative with a minimum of supervision.
Must be performance driven and solution focused.
Able to communicate politely and professionally at all levels, internally and with customers
Fluent English written and spoken.

Spectrum House London - Completed works by Alpha Mechanical.

Spectrum House in central London offers a range of studios and offices from Workspace UK up to 4500 sq. ft. Workspace UK provide office and studio spaces to a network of over 4000 businesses in 69 locations across London. Many are self-contained with their own entrances. Located just a short walk from Gospel Oak in a great location for with easy access to London city. 

Working with the main contractor IIS Ltd the works by Alpha Mechanical consisted of the mechanical services fit-out which included new comms room cooling, new toilet cores, plus ventilation to all floors. The implementation of multiple new shower blocks and kitchen facilities to each floor with a low pressure hot water system to CAT A specifications and associated waste services throughout.

Junior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor Role

• Assisting with doing take-offs and preparing BoQ’s.
• Liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors.
• Liaise with internal team members and assist in pricing variations.
• Liaising with clients from initial enquiries through to final accounts.
• Cost Control/Management of Projects
• Preparing measures and works packages for procurement and valuation purposes.
• Actively work with Project Manager relating to contract variations.
• Negotiating and purchasing of Sub-Contractors and suppliers.
• Closely monitor and process project variations.
• Prepare reports including cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
• Issuing tender queries and preparation of tender reports.
• Preparing progress applications and cost reports.
• Reporting to management on the financial progression of projects.
• Ensure effective records are kept of the works as they progress.
• Monitor project costs against budgets, identify problems/opportunities and recommend /implement change where necessary.

Key skills and experience required: Junior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying
• Some experience in a similar role (the quality of experience is more important than duration.)
• A reasonable knowledge of commercial mechanical services installations.
• Ability to read drawings and do take-offs.
• Proven ability to work on own initiative with a minimum of supervision.
• Able to communicate politely and professionally at all levels, internally and with customers.
• Enthusiastic with ability to work to tight deadlines.
